Nineteen of the Russian's 21 titles have been won on hard courts

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his maiden title for nearly 30 months with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition title decider.

The Russian, a ex- number one, has endured a torrid season, winning just one match at the big events and experiencing a setback at the American major.

Medvedev's varied form on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his service game in specific - caused him exiting of the world's top 10 and eventually parting ways with long-time trainer Gilles Cervara.

Presently collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently improved in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over challenger Moutet.

It is Medvedev's maiden trophy after the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt since spring of 2023.

Victory also signifies the Russian has achieved twenty-one victories at twenty-one distinct events.

"For the first time I'm at a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a title is especially meaningful," said ranked player the champion.

"This victory is in honour of my child her name, because the first title I achieved when my older daughter her name was born was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his last six championship matches, including in Halle previously this season.

The player's defensive strategy and frequent reactions on court had led observers to question if his ability to compete at the top level was finished.

Yet the player has altered his approach in the past month, making an effort to come to the net and compete assertively, backed up by an improved serving game.

Medvedev fought back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging Frenchman, taking four of the final five games to gain the advantage.

The competitors traded service breaks in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his initial tour title, gained dominance to create a final set.

Moutet saved 4 early-game break points in a close final set before Medvedev broke to that score to close out the victory.

Suitably, the winner clinched the win with a point at the net, with his opponent incapable to manage a volley after a lengthy match.
